November News From 6M

 

The 6th grade students did an excellent job on their Veterans Day reports. They not only learned skills in interviewing, they learned a tremendous amount about their grandparents, parents, and friends who served in the military. I was touched by many of the children who wrote in their final paragraphs that they now look upon these these family members as heroes. There will be a Veterans Day assembly for the children on Friday, November 9.

Students in 5th grade shared their explorer reports in class and we all learned a great deal from them. We are now studying colonial America.

Prayers to President Bush:

1. Dear Lord:

Please bless the United States and make us strong and proud of who we are. Bless the President and his daily duties, and help him to make the right decisions. We love our country, and can trust the President's every move. Kevin B.

God of all consolation in your unending love and mercy for us, you turn the darkness of death into the dawn of new life. We pray for the President and that all of his work be done with love and peace. We trust President Bush that he will protect us all. Tara G.

3. Dear Lord:

O God we pray that the President will know a way to solve this tragedy. We pray the President will stay safe because we can't replace him. God hear this prayer. Bless America and bless the people in New York. Briana B & Mike I

4. Dear Lord:

We pray that our President Bush and Vice President Cheney stay safe during this time of war. We also pray that the President make the right decisions that will help us during this time.

I pray for the President and all the families that they get help from all the people that live around them and that the people at war come home all safe. We know some will die but they die for their country and we will remember them in a very special way. All of them!
