Welcome to Mrs. Halbeck's Home Page! |
The
fifth and sixth graders have been working diligently on learning the timetable
facts. They race against themselves
to improve their score. There is a
2-minute time limit on the test. So
far, they are improving.
In
Math the fifth graders are working on division with decimals and 2 and 3 digit
divisors. Quizzes are once a week,
usually on Thursday.
The
sixth graders are working on the stock market once a week.
They had $10,000.00 in imaginary money to spend on stocks.
They work in groups of 5, 6, or 7. Each
week they calculate how much their stocks are worth and see if they have a
profit or loss. They have finished
a unit on division and will be working on data and statistics.
Quizzes are once a week and the day varies. They also do the 2-minute timetable exercise.
We
are completing unit 2 in reading and will begin unit 3 the week on November 11th.
Quizzes are usually on Friday. Spelling
quizzes are on Wednesday.
